Gloria and Bill Anderson
Last summer, I learned I'm not the only one in the family working on genealogy. That's when mom was first contacted by Gloria Anderson. She had tracked us through Juanita Wineburg of Florida, my fathers sister and only known living relative. Thanks to Gloria, we learned a great deal of my father's roots dating back to Alaska's early Russian history!
Gloria sent us the family tree on my father's mother's side, which I eagerly entered into my ever growing family history. On Sunday, I was able to meet her and husband Bill in person and learn even more about our family. Gloria and I both have a passion for our family's genealogy and hope to collaborate alot with her in the future.
Here is the reason I said "SMALL WORLD" at the beginning of this article. Cordova is the birth place of my father's mother Sophia and other family members such as Bill. As I said the population is about 1000, so imagine our surpise when we learned that mom's neighbor of the last 30 years, Paul was born and raised in Cordova. What's more, Bill saw him grow up and they know many common people!
Bill is one of Cordova's great fisherman and Paul's parents owned one of the two Hardware and Marine stores in town. I am sure their paths crossed often. Looking at Bill, you sure can see the Aleut side of the family!
