LIVING HISTORY!

(July 23, 2009)
You see, we got to talking to a local woman (MaryAnn) the other night about the history of the area and did we meet the right person! MaryAnn herself was born in Goldfield and has lived in the area always, but is also great friends with one of the oldest families in Tonopah, the Boscovich's. That family is included in the book "Boomtown History II" and she arranged our meeting of the family patriarch, Minnie Perchetti. Just about every other person we met in this town knows her or is related and she had some great stories. Click on photo for more.

TRAVELING AGAIN

(July 22, 2009)
Left Sunday with the truck and camper towing the Jeep, first stop was Berlin, NV. Great campground and we enjoyed exploring the area. Took a dirt road 80 miles to Tonopah, next and have been here 3 days. Yesterday we took the highway to a dirt road leading to the town of Tybo and then another 60 miles of dirt and ended up in the town of Belmont. We are staying another night just to meet an 89 year old pioneer of Tonopah! Click on photo for more.

IT'S GETTING HOT!
