(July 15th, 2017) After cutting our visit short in Tahoe last week because of the Aspen fire at home, we had to cancel plans to have Lorenz and Regula stay at our house and changed it to the GSR. We did drive out to show them the results of all the fires out here, took them to Sheels, but mostly gambled and partied! Click on photo for more pics.

(July 15th, 2017) This fire called the Long Valley Fire started in California and is now less than 15 miles from us. It has burned over 8o,000 acres so far, but again thanks to firefighters no structures have been lost. Click on photo for more pics.

(July 11th, 2017) This fire is only a mile away from us. Kathy and I were in Tahoe at Aunt Jan's visiting Reggie and Lorenz with Mom and Aunt Jan. Got a call from neighbor Steve telling us about the new fire and how close it was. Well Sean and family who were staying at the house didn't know about it because they were in town playing and rushed to the house after we called them. They grabbed what they could including the cat and met us at the Grand Sierra. Grand Sierra was very gracious and gave us a room and an RV spot for a week while the evacuation is in effect. (July 5th, 2017) Woke up to a fire across our valley. It started at 6:30 p.m. across the highway last night and by morning had jumped over to our side. By 11:00 we lost power and by 1:00 it was 4 miles away! Huge air forse of planes and helicopters dumped water and fire retardant all day. (July 4th, 2017) Spent 4th of July with Danny and Jill up in the Pah Rah range on the quads. Have never seen the roads as bad as they were and of course the videos and pictures don't do justice. Click on photo for more pics. Click for video.

(July 1st, 2017) Well the Valice family recently downsized from a two story, 4 bedroom home to a two bedroom, one bath. But then they just upgraded from a 17 foot open floor plan to a 29 foot electric bunk and private bedroom! A bunch of us will be camping together on the 21st to help break this trailer in!
