RELANDSCAPING THE POOL, PROGRESS ON THE VALICE HOME, JENNA VISITS, BROWN KIDS FLYING AND SURGERY.

new

(June 16th, 2023) Scot began tearing out the jungle behind the pool while we were in Verdi and we both hit it hard the first week of our stay here. The Valice house is coming along and I had a nice walk over there to check it out. Scot's son's and future son in law spent Father's Day splitting wood. Mason had surgery on his teeth while Scarlett and Severn went up in a small plane. Click on photo for more pictures.

ANN AND DAISY MAKE IT TO VERDI PLUS WE CLIMB RUDOLPH PEAK!

(June 12TH, 2023) Scot dropped Ann and Daisy off for the week while he returned to hot California and let us play! Besides doing Daisy's walk a hundred times, we still found time to hit the casinos and enjoy our last week in Verdi for a while. Daisy and I climbed Rudolph Peak on my birthday too! TAHOE MOVING A ROCK, MIKE AND ANNIE BACK IN VERDI

new

(June 10th, 2023) Bob, Sina and Aunt Jan spent Memorial week up at her Tahoe home. Jeff, Kathy and I went up for the day for a BBQ and to finish opening up for the Summer. Snow plows were busy this Winter and in doing so dislodged a rock which hung over the retaining wall and on top of a Christy box. Used the winch to move it. Mike and Annie returned to Verdi for some relaxing and playing along with their dogs Jasper and Kona. Click on photo for more pictures.

BOB DOOLEY 1929-2023

(June 2nd, 2023) After a wonderful 94-year life, Leo “Bob” P. Dooley died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 2, 2023, to join his wife, Nancy; his parents, Leo P. and Marion Kenneally Dooley; his sisters, Eileen Drottz and Margaret Malone, and his brothers, Jack, Bill, Larry, and Paul. Survivors include his son Jeffrey R. Dooley, married to Marne Orsillo of West Hartford, CT; a daughter Colleen M. Crawley, wife of Daniel Crawley Jr., of South Kingstown, RI; a son Scott J. Dooley of Lincoln, RI and a brother, Ken Dooley of Savannah, GA. He was also an uncle to many loving and devoted nieces and nephews. Bob, as he was known to family and friends, was particularly proud of his grandsons, Joseph N. and Ryan P. Dooley of West Hartford, CT, and Daniel P. Crawley III and Zachary J. Crawley of South Kingstown, RI. He loved attending their baseball games and swim meets and came to be known as a good luck charm for their respective teams. After graduating from Cranston High School in 1947, he joined the U.S. Army and participated in the Inchon invasion in Korea in 1950. When the Chinese joined the North Koreans, his unit was trapped and had to be evacuated from Pusan. His family learned about the furious fighting from other sources because Bob never discussed the experiences that earned him a Korean service medal with two bronze service stars. “The real heroes are buried there,” he would respond to any questions about his Korean experiences. He was employed at Narragansett Electric Company for 40 years, retiring in 1993. There, he met Nancy Donahue, and they were married for 36 years before her death in 2007. He was a communicant of Saint Jude’s Church in Lincoln for almost fifty years. He was a frequent volunteer at Saint Jude’s, teaching Catechism lessons, and served on a committee that counts the weekly church offering. Bob was a huge New England Sports fan and loved watching the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins. (Thank you to Ken Dooley for writing this.) Click on photo for more pictures.
