KEVIN JOHNSON

Just a short story about Kevin Johnson and an interaction Mom had with him. Kevin Johnson grew up in Sacramento, went to the NBA and played for 12 years, mainly for the Phoenix Suns. After retiring he moved back to Sacramento and bought a home directly across from Curtis Park. My nephew DJ and friends would play pick up basketball and once in awhile Kevin would shoot a couple of baskets with them. This particular day DJ wasn't there but Mom who was walking her dog was watching Kevin shooting around with some local kids. As he was about to give the ball to one of them he spied Mom and said "here you give it a try!". Mom not one to back down said "sure!" As she sighted on the hoop, she heard some of the kids saying "that's DJ's Grandma!" and then she sank her shot. Kevin said "unbelievable! Enough for me, I'm going home". 7 years later, Kevin became Mayor of Sacramento.
